From this experience of shooting in a professional environment, this has built my confidence because I did not feel out of place being part of a team and also working on my own. I have realised there is a lot of what I have learnt and the processes I use for my own work are very similar to industry standard. This experience has fueled my ambitions to complete the BA in photography with a higher grade and also given me the confidence to approach companies for work in the future. This experience has allowed me to make new friends in the industry and also shown me having the confidence to talk to people will benefit me and help me relax at work.
My main aim was to experience working in the photography industry and judge how I would handle the fast pass and high demands involved with working. This opportunity also allowed me to examine the areas I may have to improve before I go out and start working, one of these areas will be to use Capture One more regularly. There has been one area I feel I will need to strengthen and this is, how I save information. Danny has told me this is important because the customer also has access to the files and they want don’t want to be spending hours finding a document or losing files. All of this can cost the company money because of time wasting, so making sure the files are named correctly can help. I also used social media to showcase what I was doing and show my audience I was active. I used Snapchat and Instagram to do this because these are visual sites.
My objective will now be to find more work experience within the studio environment, this will enable me to build up experience but also network and challenge myself within the industry. This will allow me to question my skillset for the workplace. Also to implement the techniques I have learnt into my own processing.
